Coronation Street‘s Lauren Bolton finally received some good news in Wednesday’s episode (November 27) as she was reunited with her baby son Frankie.
Lauren has been fighting for permission to raise Frankie in the prison’s mother and baby unit as she continues to be held on remand over Joel Deering’s murder.
The teen’s chances had seemed bleak until Dee-Dee Bailey represented her in an important meeting with the Mother and Baby Admissions Board.
In Wednesday’s episode, there was a heartwarming moment for Lauren as the outcome was revealed and the custodial manager placed Frankie into her arms.

Lauren was overjoyed to have her beloved son back, although unbeknown to her, new doubts were creeping in over his long-term future.
Lauren’s boyfriend Max Turner has convinced his family to give Frankie a good home if necessary in the future.
Back at the Platt house, Shona reminded David that this will be the end result if Lauren is convicted of Joel’s murder.
Shona noted that Lauren is “really relieved” over the news, but David admitted that he was still having doubts.

David confessed: “I don’t think we should be taking him – that’s all. I don’t want to be bringing up somebody else’s kid.”
As Shona warned that Max feels “really strongly” about helping to raise Frankie, David quipped: “Well, let him go and get his own house and he can bring up as many little babies as he wants.”
This wasn’t the only issue causing tension between the Platt couple, as Shona confided in David about how she desperately wants to visit her son Clayton Hibbs.

Clayton is currently recovering in hospital after attempting to take his own life in prison. David has secretly been trying to block Shona’s access to Clayton, unable to forgive the villain for killing his first wife Kylie in 2016.
Show bosses have confirmed that Shona and David’s marital issues are paving the way for a big Christmas storyline this year.
Corrie‘s producer Kate Brooks recently told Digital Spy and other media: “The Platts are at the heart of Christmas. You’ve got David and Shona – and David has made massive mistakes in hiding visiting orders from Clayton.
“This goes on to have massive consequences and Shona hits that self-destruct button in the build-up to Christmas and makes some really terrible judgement calls.”
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
