Coronation Street revisits the romance story between Alya Nazir and Adam Barlow next week.
The show explored a spark between the two characters earlier this year, but the story went on hold when Alya headed off for a work placement in Dublin.
Next week’s episodes see Alya make her return to Weatherfield, as Sair Khan reprises the role following her real-life maternity leave.
Alya is now shadowing a criminal solicitor and gets involved in defending Mason Radcliffe’s troublesome brother Matty when he’s accused of attacking Carla Connor.

Adam catches up with Alya and admits how much he’s missed her, so he suggests they should go for dinner together. Will Alya be interested?
Speaking about Alya and Adam’s new scenes, Sair explained: “I don’t think there’s been that much contact while Alya’s been in Ireland. So I think when they lock eyes back on each other, the spark that was there before Alya left has been completely reignited.
“But I think Alya is trying to play it cool and be a bit coy, but she also knows what she wants, and that’s him, so she’s just gonna go for it!”

She continued: “I think Alya has seen a different side to Adam that she didn’t see when he was her boss, a much more caring and sensitive side.
“Although she knows he can be a bit cocky and arrogant, I think she likes being kept on her toes and it’s exciting for her. He’s got big aspirations, and I think she finds that a turn on. So, I think she’s very keen on him.”
Sair also warned that Alya’s new job could lead to problems as she finds herself defending Matty, who viewers already know is bad news.

She said: “I think the moment you first see Alya back on the screen, you can instantly tell that she has misgivings about the situation that she’s in. She feels very compromised.
“She doesn’t quite know the facts of what’s happening, but her spidey senses are telling her that something’s not quite right. She doesn’t really know how the situation is going to pan out, or if she’s on the wrong side of the truth. She finds herself questioning her morals and what she thought she wanted.”
