Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Damon Hay has made his on-screen return in Coronation Street.
The soap hinted that Damon would be making another appearance when Adam Barlow intercepted a voicemail from him to Sarah Platt in scenes aired earlier this week.
Damon offered Sarah a secret stash of money to help pay for Bethany Platt’s medical debt in Turkey, after a botched liposuction procedure led to her developing sepsis.
Viewers will remember that Damon was imprisoned earlier this year after he was blackmailed into joining a robbery plot organised by his brother Harvey. Sarah had intended to support Damon through his prison sentence, but he cut her off so she could move on with her life.
In Friday’s (October 4) episode, the Platts were still trying to figure out how to come up with the money to bring Bethany home.

Gail suggested she could put their house on the market, but this option worried David since the entire family would have nowhere to live.
Daniel had his own ideas to try to help Bethany by tapping into son Bertie’s trust fund, yet he was encouraged to reconsider by Ken Barlow.
When Adam confided in Daniel that Damon had offered to help, he was warned it was best to stay away from the imprisoned criminal.
“I don’t think you should tell Sarah,” Daniel argued.
Adam decided to see for himself whether Damon was serious about his offer by visiting him in prison. The meeting was awkward from the offing since Sarah had cheated on Adam with Damon.
“I just want to know if you’re being genuine or if you’re playing some twisted game,” Adam asked.
Damon quipped: “You need to let it go mate – us, this. Do you still think we’re fighting over Sarah? It’s over. We both lost her.”
He admitted he still loved Sarah and said his motivations were pure, adding: “Either you tell [Sarah], or I’ll just pick up the phone again and tell her myself.”
Adam later met up with Daniel at the pub, where he’d decided to tell Sarah about Damon’s money. Daniel begged Adam not to go through with it, admitting Sarah “would probably say yes”.
“We’re talking about the proceeds of an armed robbery here,” Daniel reminded him. “The police will be all over it. Do you really want to get Sarah mixed up in all that?”
Daniel promised he’d come up with the money somehow. With the soap confirming Sarah will reach out to Damon in upcoming scenes, viewers haven’t seen the last of this story strand.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
