Coronation Street took home six trophies at this year’s Inside Soap Awards, including the coveted prize for Best Soap.
The ITV soap has seen viewers reacting to a hard-hitting storyline concerning Motor Neurone Disease (MND) for character Paul Foreman, which earned the soap the award for Best Storyline.
Peter Ash, who plays Paul, received double recognition, winning both Best Actor and Best Partnership together with Daniel Brocklebank, who plays Paul’s husband Billy Mayhew.

There were two more prizes for the soap, with Charlie Wrenshall winning Best Young Performer for his role as Liam Connor and Dame Maureen Lipman once again besting the competition for Best Comic Performance as the sharp-tongued Evelyn Plummer.
Meanwhile, Emmerdale followed behind with three awards. Eden Taylor-Draper was recognised for her performance as marital coercive control victim Belle King, while the soap’s Dingle clan were named Best Family.
This year’s Inside Soap Awards also gave their first-ever Best Pet prize to Minnie, who portrays Belle’s dog Piper in the show.
EastEnders‘ shocking Christmas murder mystery was given the prize for Best Showstopper, with one of The Six, Suki Panesar actor Balvinder Sopal named Soap Superstar. Suki’s villainous ex-husband Nish Panesar, portrayed by Navin Chowdhry, was titled Best Soap Villain.

Hollyoaks also received one prize, as Isabelle Smith got the award for Best Newcomer for her portrayal of Frankie Osborne, who was involved in a harrowing sibling sexual abuse storyline.
Waterloo Road saw mainstay Adam Thomas picking up the award for Best Drama Star for his performance as Donte Charles, while the cast and crew of axed daytime show Doctors were presented with the Outstanding Achievement Award.
Finally, Aussie revived drama Neighbours was named Best Daytime Soap, with Ryan Moloney winning Best Daytime Star for the role of Toadie Rebecchi.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
