Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street sets the stage for Leanne Battersby’s big Christmas storyline next week.
Leanne starts to play the long game as she seeks revenge against her sister Toyah Habeeb and ex-partner Nick Tilsley.
This week’s episodes see Leanne left furious when she realises that Toyah and Nick are still seeing each other behind her back.
Feeling like the pair are treating her like a fool with their secret relationship, Leanne becomes determined to get even.

Next week, Leanne’s games officially begin as she gets her hands on Toyah’s passport, sneakily takes a picture of the photo page and uploads it onto a website.
Afterwards, Leanne puts the passport back so that Toyah doesn’t notice anything is amiss.
Checking on the progress of her plan, Leanne opens an email confirming that she has fraudulently opened a new bank account in Toyah’s name. But what exactly is she up to?
Speaking about the mysterious scenes, Jane Danson – who plays Leanne – commented: “She’s playing with them both. She’s making Nick feel even more guilty, and almost trying to get a confession out of him. When she really makes a play for him and he still doesn’t cave, she’s like, ‘Right! I’ll show you both!'”

Asked how Leanne feels about Nick and Toyah not being honest with her, Jane replied: “It’s just the pits for her! She was over the first time to a point. Leanne knows that she did make some bad decisions, and although she didn’t agree with what Toyah and Nick did, she can understand why it might have happened.
“She loves Toyah so much that she was prepared to forgive her. So, to find out that their affair is continuing – basically, she’s at the end of her rope. Toyah has kind of taken out her whole life from Leanne and she resents that hugely. It’s great to play out!”
Earlier this week, Coronation Street‘s new producer Kate Brooks confirmed that Leanne’s revenge will be one of the stories airing over Christmas.

Brooks explained: “Rather than go down the route which is expected, of her taking it on the chin or moving on, Leanne really wants to make them pay and she is really intent on getting her own revenge.
“It can be at the detriment of her own sanity sometimes, but she wants to make them realise what they’ve done to her. Nick’s betrayal is one thing, but the betrayal of a sister is huge, and I just love that dynamic between Toyah and Leanne – I think it’s fantastic.”
She added: “That all comes to the forefront on Christmas Day and it doesn’t end well for anyone.”
Coronation Street airs the first steps of Leanne’s revenge on Monday, December 2 and Wednesday, December 4. You can also check out our collection of 20 spoiler pictures from next week’s episodes.
