EastEnders airs new Cindy and Lauren twist in iPlayer release

EastEnders spoilers follow for Wednesday’s episode (November 27), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders has aired a new twist involving Cindy Beale and Lauren Branning, in the show’s latest episode.

This week, Cindy and Junior restarted their affair on the day of George and Elaine’s wedding, but Kojo spotted them kissing in the street.

Cindy followed Kojo, begging him to keep quiet about what he saw, and a struggle on a fire escape ended with Kojo taking a dramatic fall.

Meanwhile, Lauren took dangerous action amid her growing painkiller addiction, and she stole a bottle of liquid morphine from Amy.

In today’s episode, Lauren took a gulp of the medication, before discovering Kojo lying motionless on the ground. She called an ambulance, then spotted a distressed Cindy lurking.

Lauren confronted Cindy about what happened, and while she protested that it was an accident, Lauren didn’t buy her story. Cindy begged her to lie to the police – before finding Amy’s medication in Lauren’s bag.

As Lauren tried to explain her situation, devious Cindy decided to use this new information as leverage and suggested a deal where they both lie for each other.

Lauren had no choice but to agree, and as Kojo was taken to hospital, she told the police that she and Cindy discovered Kojo together.

Elsewhere, Junior gave his best man’s speech for George in The Vic, though he made some risky references to “following in his dad’s footsteps”, as his affair with his dad’s ex-wife continues.

Cindy and Lauren arrived at the pub to tell George the news about his brother, and at the hospital, the Knights were told that Kojo had been put in an induced coma.

Later, Lauren overheard Cindy lying to Ian about where she was earlier, telling him that they went for a walk together, and she realised that she was hiding something.

When alone, Lauren challenged Cindy about her lie. Concerned about what she had got herself into, she wanted to know where she had been all day.

“You’re lying about something,” she said. “I will find out what it is.”

Will Lauren get to the truth about Cindy and Junior?

EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
