Martin Fowler got some important news on EastEnders as his baby storyline with Ruby Allen continues.
Ruby returned to Walford earlier this month as she informed ex-husband Martin that she had secretly given birth to their son, Roman, whilst in prison.
The news stunned Martin, who later discovered that Ruby had told multiple lies regarding both Roman’s whereabouts and his health, with the youngster currently recovering from autoimmune hepatitis in hospital.

Perturbed by Ruby’s deception, Martin recently pledged that he wanted full custody of Roman, with Thursday’s (November 21) episode beginning with Martin waking up at Stacey’s as he spoke of the importance of knowing who was “on his side”.
Martin headed to the hospital with Ruby, with a nurse informing them that Roman may need a liver transplant in order to be cured. It is stated that Ruby isn’t a match, though Martin agrees to testing as he reasons he would do “anything” to save his son.
There was then an awkward meeting between Ruby and Jean, with the pair crossing paths for the first time since the former’s incarceration. Jean, who had framed Ruby back in 2021 as her own act of revenge, expressed her desire for any differences to be “settled”.
Jean explained that she felt “justified” by her decision until she heard that Ruby was pregnant, with the character explaining that she was willing to leave the past behind for her family. Ruby subsequently lashed out, declaring that Roman was solely hers.

Martin and Stacey returned home following the news that his blood was a match with Roman’s, with Martin outlining his plan to “play Ruby at her own game” as he wanted his name on his son’s birth certificate.
Stacey expressed doubt that Ruby would fall for Martin’s plan, though he was adamant that the scheme would work. Will Martin go through with his idea, and will Stacey be able to morally support him through it?
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
