Lauren realised something had happened and threatened to tell the police, but Cindy discovered that Lauren was becoming addicted to painkillers and used this as leverage.

Lauren continued to take Amy’s liquid morphine and hide it from Peter. She confronted Cindy in the Square when she wasn’t answering her calls, with Lauren remaining convinced that she was hiding something.
Junior asked Cindy to come to the hospital and told her he was worried about her when she arrived. She decided not to tell him about the sequence of events that led to Kojo’s fall.
Meanwhile, Peter grew worried about Lauren when she didn’t feel able to pick Louie up from school, asking Ian to do it instead.
He confided in Anna about his concerns, explaining that Lauren seemed distracted. Anna made a comparison to Linda’s alcoholism, and Peter realised that she may have relapsed.

Lauren was horrified when Peter asked her if she was drinking again, and she got emotional when Louie got involved. She went outside and threw the morphine in the bin.
She told Cindy that she wanted to take back her statement, and that Cindy no longer had anything over her as she had stopped taking the medication.
With Lauren threatening to ask Kojo what happened, Cindy was forced to take drastic action, and she asked recovering addict Gina who in the Square might supply her with drugs.
