EastEnders reveals major setbacks for Reiss in iPlayer release

EastEnders spoilers follow for Monday’s episode (September 30), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders has revealed two major setbacks for Reiss Colwell, in the show’s latest episode.

In recent weeks, Reiss has attempted to get Sonia released from prison while also covering up the fact that he killed his wife Debbie – but Bianca is convinced that he is the culprit.

After accusing him of murder and throwing a brick at his car, Bianca apologised for her behaviour and Reiss allowed her to move back in, but she has plans to expose his crime.

In today’s episode, Bianca played nice with Reiss on the day of Sonia’s plea hearing but was suspicious when she spotted him making a secret phone call.

It was confirmed that Sonia’s trial won’t take place until next year, meaning that she is set to spend Christmas in prison.

Meanwhile, Reiss decided to volunteer for the Harvest Festival collection at the community centre, and Bianca thought this was strange.

He received a letter in the post and looked worried about its contents. Bianca asked him about it, and he lied and said it was a speeding ticket, but she wasn’t convinced.

Bianca told Kat about her suspicions but, worried about her mental health, Kat encouraged her to cut Reiss some slack and argued that her meddling wasn’t helping Sonia.

At home, Bianca pledged to Reiss that she will stay out of his business from now on – but when he left the letter lying around, she couldn’t help but peek.

The letter was from the insurance company and said that Reiss’ claim for Debbie’s life insurance wasn’t eligible because of the current murder investigation surrounding her death.

Bianca was shocked at this, but at that moment, Brenda and Hugh arrived with a solicitor to read out Debbie’s will. Reiss told Bianca to stay around, but she decided to listen in.

It was revealed that Debbie had given full financial control to her parents, should she be survived by either of them, so all of her money will go to them.

Reiss was confused as he and Debbie had agreed they would leave everything to each other, but the solicitor said that she had amended her will one week before her stroke.

What’s more, Reiss was left with nothing but an antique doll’s house that Debbie noted she hated, with the will making Bianca even more suspicious.

Will Bianca now be able to get to the truth about Reiss?

EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
