EastEnders is to air emotional scenes between Ruby Allen and Stacey Slater, as the baby plot continues next week.
This week, Martin Fowler got a huge shock when Sharon revealed that he had a son he didn’t know about through his ex-wife Ruby.
Ruby’s dramatic return to Walford confirmed this news, but she told Martin that she had the baby adopted when she got out of prison.

Soon after, Martin and Stacey discovered that Ruby had lied about this, and they found out that Ruby and Martin’s son Roman was in hospital with autoimmune hepatitis.
It was revealed that Roman was originally admitted to hospital with a paracetamol overdose, so Martin decided that his son wasn’t safe in Ruby’s care and told Stacey he was going to fight for full custody.
Martin and Ruby were told that Roman could need a liver transplant. Ruby wasn’t eligible, but Martin was a match, so he might be able to help his son.
He declared that he was going to “play Ruby at her own game“, outlining his plan to get his name on Roman’s birth certificate.

In scenes that will air next week, Martin offers to keep watch over Roman at the hospital, while Ruby returns to Walford to freshen up.
She bumps into Stacey in the café, and the best-friends-turned-enemies will likely have a lot more to say to one another after their tense reunion last week.
At No. 31, Stacey and Martin argue over how he is approaching the situation with Ruby, and Stacey isn’t as sure that Martin’s plan will work.

Later in the week, Martin, Stacey, Jean and Harvey have a family meal at Walford East, but Martin has a lot on his mind and is distracted.
Stacey tells Martin that he is making a mistake with this scheme, then she returns home where she is greeted by an emotional Ruby.
With Ruby in a distressed state about Roman, will Stacey stick by Martin, or will she tell her former friend the truth?
EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
