EastEnders’ Tommy Moon injures Freddie in terrifying scenes

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders aired some terrifying scenes as Tommy Moon injured his cousin Freddie Slater in an altercation.

The soap is currently exploring a child-to-parent abuse storyline involving Tommy and Kat Slater, with the youngster previously punching his mother in the stomach.

After lying about her injury, Monday’s (October 21) episode saw Kat admit to Alfie Moon that their son was the one who had harmed her, leading to an emotional conversation as Kat admitted to her fears and worries.

Alfie later confronted Tommy at the boxing gym. He dismissed the teen’s reasoning that it was an “accident” and said that it was now becoming a pattern. Tommy claimed his outbursts were caused by his mother’s romantic history, which Alfie wasn’t happy about.

As he pinned him against the boxing ring, Alfie warned Tommy that he would “drag” him to social services should he speak about Kat in the same way again, with Freddie – who was campaigning for the incarcerated Sonia Fowler – arriving to intervene in the fiery exchange.

Freddie and Alfie returned home to Kat to inform her of the situation. Kat reasoned that they should treat Tommy like “an adult” in a bid to improve his behaviour, adding that she “wouldn’t be giving up” on her son.

Alfie, Kat and Tommy sat down around the table in an attempt to heal past wounds, and Tommy shared that he felt under constant pressure. After appearing to break new ground, he accompanied Alfie to the local Chinese takeaway for a family dinner.

Just as it looked like the family was making progress, Alfie confided in Freddie about his troubles with Tommy, who was angered when he overheard his stepfather calling him a “little thug”. This led to disaster at the dinner table, with Tommy treating his younger brothers terribly.

Freddie attempted to intervene once again, but Tommy lashed out. This led to a scuffle in which Freddie accidentally floored Tommy, increasing his anger as he trashed the room.

After Freddie explained that it was an accident, Tommy retaliated by pouring hot soup over his cousin’s arm and confronting Alfie. When he left the room by slamming the door, Kat and Alfie looked on in horror following their son’s latest outburst.

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
