Emmerdale spoilers follow from Friday’s episode (October 18), which is available to watch now on streaming service ITVX but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.
Emmerdale has released a special Dingle family episode as the emotional fallout from Zak’s death continues.
Friday’s episode focuses almost entirely on Cain, Sam and Belle Dingle as they continue to mourn the loss of their beloved father.
Viewers have just seen the Dingles lay Zak to rest outside the family home, as per his last wishes. The day descended into chaos when Zak’s long-lost daughter Tina turned up and caused trouble.
The latest episode picks up on the same day as Cain, Sam and Belle head away from the rowdy wake at The Woolpack.

The siblings chat privately at Wishing Well Cottage, where they share more memories of Zak.
There are emotional scenes as Cain reflects on the pressure of taking over as head of the family, and Sam expresses his own insecurities over his place in the Dingle clan.
Meanwhile, Belle speculates on what Zak would have thought about the abuse that her evil husband Tom put her through – unaware that he knew about it before he died.
Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain, had previously teased this episode by saying: “It’s pretty much a dedicated episode where they just stay up one night and talk about what’s going on in their lives, and relate it all to Zak, and talk about Zak as well.
“It’s a really lovely episode. It reminded me a lot of the lockdown two hander episodes that we had where it’s just characters talking. It’s a bit like doing a play, it’s quite intense.”

The episode is nearly a three-hander special, as the only other character to appear is Lydia when she makes a brief cameo.
Emmerdale‘s episodes this week have been written as a tribute to actor Steve Halliwell, who passed away last December at the age of 77. The legendary cast member had played Zak since 1994.
Fans can see the emotional Dingle special tonight at 7.30pm on ITV1 or right now on ITVX.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
