Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale has aired the outcome of Arthur Thomas’s sex lie.
Last week, Arthur tried to make his friends think he was more sexually experienced by insinuating that he’d slept with the older John Sugden.
Once Laurel found out, she confronted John in front of the whole pub, only for the newcomer to deny he did or ever would do anything with someone Arthur’s age.
Monday’s (October 7) episode saw Arthur desperate to stop his mum Laurel from having a “calm” talk with John where she could warn him against taking advantage of young people.

At the cafe, Nicola had a heart-to-heart with Arthur where she reminisced about how proud she’d been when he came out, reminding him he’d been honest about who he is.
“I never said that I had sex with John,” Arthur confessed. “It was April who’d assumed it. I was mortified when mum was having a go at John.
“I just didn’t want anyone to think that I was a child.”
When Arthur admitted “nothing” at all happened with John, Nicola encouraged him to set the record straight because it was “dangerous” to allow rumours to spread.
“If you really want to make yourself look more mature, apologise to John, for a start,” she suggested.
Arthur went round to speak to John, who was “grateful” he’d admitted his lie. John said it would be best for them to “give each other a bit of space” from now on.
At The Hyde, Laurel received a phone call from Nicola sharing Arthur’s confession, so she went over to apologise to John for their earlier confrontation.
“It’s alright, it’s pretty much sorted now,” John told Laurel. “He came to see me at work, admitted he’d made it all up and apologised.”
Back at home, Laurel was still irate at Arthur and warned him that “actions have consequences”. Will Laurel and Arthur work through their rift?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
