Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale has aired a temporary exit for Ruby Fox Miligan.
Ruby has been heartbroken and distraught after discovering her husband Caleb lied to her over the recent death of her mother Helen.
Helen tried reaching out to Ruby in her final days, but Caleb showed up to visit her instead. He got Helen to agree to pay him £100,000 for a meeting with Ruby, but she died shortly after transferring the cash.
The blackmail offer came up again as Helen’s will was read aloud this week. Ruby learned her estranged daughter Steph was the sole recipient of Helen’s money — in addition to figuring out Caleb had demanded a pay-off from Helen.

Wednesday’s (October 23) episode saw the couple still on the outs, with Caleb accusing Ruby of trying to sabotage his deal with Jimmy to buy out the haulage firm.
Caleb later got some advice from Laurel that if he was serious about saving his marriage, he needed to prove to Ruby that he deserved forgiveness.
He turned up with flowers to try to talk things through with Ruby yet his wife had no intention of forgiving his many lies.
Caleb revealed he’d spoken to Suni Sharma to ask if they could visit their son Nicky Miligan. Suni was only willing to let Ruby come given how the family parted on bad terms earlier this year.
“[Nicky] knows about your mum, and everything that’s gone on, and he agrees it’d be good for you to get away for a bit,” Caleb told his wife.
Ruby was near tears as she admitted to Caleb: “That’s actually quite thoughtful, for you.”
Caleb assured Ruby she was his priority and he would welcome her back in Emmerdale as she soon as she felt ready. The couple shared a hug as the scene faded out.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
