Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale‘s Billy Fletcher will make a risky plan to take part in another unlicensed boxing match next week, despite the nasty injuries that he has already suffered.
It’s been clear over the past few weeks that Billy has been keeping a secret from his wife Dawn after she found a mysterious stash of cash in their home, but she has so far remained in the dark about what’s going on.
Later this week, viewers will discover the truth when Billy shows up at Mackenzie Boyd’s house covered in blood, where he admits that he’s been boxing in unlicensed matches.
He explains that he needs the money he’s earning from the fights to help support his family, especially while his baby son Evan is being treated for leukaemia.

In scenes that will air next week, Billy confides in Mack again, revealing that he has to take part in another boxing match in the coming days.
After he asks Mack to keep his new fight a secret, Mack reveals that he can not only keep Billy’s confidence, but also help him organise and prepare for his matches.
The next day, there’s another development at Home Farm when Kim Tate and Will Taylor share an unexpected romantic moment, leaving Kim confused after the recent tension between the estranged couple.
Meanwhile, Will makes another relationship breakthrough when he gives daughter Dawn some money. As he promises that he’ll help her sort out a loan to ease her financial troubles, some of the bad feelings between the pair after Will’s treatment of Dawn’s mum Rose start to ease.

Despite these positive developments in the family, Billy becomes more determined to go ahead with his next match so that he can keep providing for Dawn and the kids. Will Billy’s secretive and dangerous behaviour end up driving his family away?
Jay Kontzle, who plays Billy, recently hinted that his character’s secret could lead to a split for him and Dawn, especially as he is putting his life on the line with his fights.
“He’s risking his life because he thinks it’s good for his family, he’ll do anything for his family, but realistically Dawn wants him to be healthy and to be there for his family, and he’s kind of putting it all on the line,” he said.
“If Dawn was made aware of what’s actually happening here, I think she would hit the roof.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
