Emmerdale’s Tom caught out, Corrie death and more soap spoilers

Soap spoilers follow.

One soap villain down, one to go. While Coronation Street has killed off Joel Deering in a huge whodunit storyline, Emmerdale is busy setting up Tom King’s inevitable downfall.

These are just two of the big soap stories which have been hitting the headlines this week, along with the promise of Halloween drama for EastEnders and more River Boy action in Home and Away.

Did you miss any gossip this week? Don’t worry, as we’re on hand with our regular Sunday round-up of the biggest stories from the past seven days.

tom king, emmerdale

ITV

Eagle-eyed Emmerdale fans will have already spotted no-nonsense Nicola King appearing slightly hesitant over evil Tom’s lies in recent weeks. She’s clearly no fool – and Tom should be very worried.

Earlier this week, new spoilers dropped revealing that Nicola is about to notice her young stepson Carl appearing scared around Tom. We’re sure that she’ll want answers very quickly, which is sure to be tricky for Tom since Carl knows all about that missing tablet computer…

sam dingle, belle dingle, cain dingle, emmerdale

ITV

The ongoing Tom storyline takes a second twist next week when Belle finds out that her late father Zak knew about the villain’s abuse before he died.

Belle has recently expressed relief that Zak passed away without knowing the distressing details of what she’d been through. When Mandy lets slip some crucial information, though, Belle is hurt to discover that Cain spoke to Zak about it behind her back.

dee dee bailey, coronation street

ITV

Coronation Street ended this week with a damning flashback which revealed that Dee-Dee Bailey is keeping secrets over the night that Joel Deering died.

We suspect this was a red herring rather than the final outcome of the mystery, but Dee-Dee may have to be careful next week as DC Kit Green becomes suspicious over her behaviour.

There’s also trouble for Dee-Dee when she invites Lauren Bolton and baby Frankie to move in, then immediately regrets it. Can she really cope with them living under her roof? And is her erratic behaviour a sign of a broken heart, or something more sinister?

EastEnders‘ tradition of airing memorable episodes for Halloween looks likely to continue later this month. The latest short teaser spoilers released by the soap have warned that “trouble is brewing” in Walford on the spooky holiday.

Too vague for you? There’s not long to wait for more, as our full spoilers and pictures from the Halloween episodes will be released on Tuesday and reveal who’ll be taking centre stage.

dean thompson in home and away

Channel 5

Following the exciting news that Dean Thompson and Ziggy Astoni will be returning to Home and Away next year, actor Patrick O’Connor has been giving some extra teasers over what to expect.

Patrick told Australia’s Daily Telegraph newspaper: “There’s a bit of River Boy action, there’s a bit of road trips with them.”

Patrick and co-star (and real-life partner) Sophie Dillman will be filming on location in North Queensland for the storyline – and there’s sure to be trouble if the River Boys are involved.

james nightingale and ste hay in hollyoaks

Lime Pictures

Hollyoaks‘ final episode of the week hinted that James Nightingale could still be alive, but this was certainly news to Gregory Finnegan, who played the popular character.

After being flooded with messages from fans, Gregory publicly responded by saying: “From the amount of messages I’ve got in the past 24 hrs, something appears to be happening on Hollyoaks…! It’s news to me.”

Gregory suggested that fans should buy his new book The World According to Grog for “the inside scoop” on his sad departure from the Channel 4 soap.

leanne battersby, coronation street

ITV

Coronation Street‘s Les Battersby will become the latest soap character to get an off-camera death next month, according to tabloid reports.

Leanne is in for a shock when she receives a call to let her know that her father has passed away. Les last appeared on the soap in 2007.
