Hollyoaks’ Frankie makes a big change in early streaming release

Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Monday’s episode (September 30), which is available to watch now on streaming service Channel 4 and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

Note: This story discusses topics including sibling sexual abuse.

Hollyoaks’ Frankie Osborne has made a big decision about her future in the show’s latest episode.

After the time jump, Frankie was still seeking justice for her twin brother JJ’s sexual abuse.

But just before his plea hearing, JJ collapsed in court and was rushed to hospital, where he was diagnosed with leukaemia.

Darren struggled with how to support both his children at the same time, while Frankie told Lucas that she was going to have to drop the charges against JJ.

In today’s episode, Frankie found out that Darren was going to visit JJ in hospital again, and she wasn’t happy about her dad’s support.

Darren explained that JJ needed an adult there while he was given his treatment plan. Frankie said she still felt betrayed.

As Darren stressed that Frankie would always be his priority, she revealed that she had arranged to see the police and drop the charges against JJ.

As he arrived at the hospital, Darren saw Mercedes and she gave him some advice – telling him that she wouldn’t have been able to get through her cancer ordeal without the support of her family.

JJ was told that his chemotherapy treatment could start immediately, and Darren sat by his bedside as Misbah explained the process.

Darren tried to make a sharp exit shortly afterwards and JJ questioned why his dad was even bothering coming to support him.

JJ said that it would be better for everyone if the treatment didn’t work and told a devastated Darren that he was better off dead.

Meanwhile, Frankie arrived at the police station, but Nancy stopped her before she went inside and asked if she was sure she wanted to drop the charges.

Nancy argued that JJ’s illness doesn’t take away from what he did and a trial could make sure she got justice, and Frankie eventually decided not to withdraw her statement.

At home, Nancy told Darren that Frankie had decided to go ahead with the trial, but Frankie questioned what would happen if JJ survived his leukaemia – and told her dad she was done with him.

Is there a way back for their relationship?
