This is the terrifying moment Gail Platt (Helen Worth) suffers a heart attack in Coronation Street.
The new spoiler video from next week’s episodes – which you can watch above – sees the Weatherfield icon fall ill following stressful arguments with her family earlier in the day.
Gail has been at odds with her children Sarah (Tina O’Brien) and David (Jack P Shepherd) over her new relationship with Jesse Chadwick (John Thomson) and her decision to sell the family home to pay for granddaughter Bethany’s (Lucy Fallon) medical bills.
She recently returned from a trip to Thailand where the pair fell in love after first crossing paths during his original stint on the cobbles from 2008 to 2010.
In scenes to air on Wednesday, Jesse is hunting for Lilly’s bicycle pump in the cupboard under the stairs and is stunned when he comes across a huge bag of cash.
However, his curiosity evaporates when Gail comes down the stairs and is breathing unsteadily and clutching her arm.
Spotting the signs of a heart attack, Jesse quickly calls an ambulance as Gail’s health hangs in the balance – will she be ok?
As previously announced, actress Helen Worth is set to leave her role as Gail on the ITV soap after 50 years before Christmas.
Is this how she departs, or will the Corrie icon get a much-deserved happy ending?
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Wednesday at 8pm on ITV1 and from 7am on ITVX.
