On The Young and the Restless, Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) plans for her dream wedding with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) recently hit a snag. Their venue had a crack in its foundation and was indefinitely closed just weeks before the wedding.
When Abby and Devon told Abby’s father, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), about the dilemma, he had the solution. Victor told the bride and groom that he knew of the perfect location and would take care of all of the details except one: He wouldn’t tell anyone where it was.

It turns out that Victor isn’t only planning to surprise Devon and Abby with the wedding of their dreams. He already had a huge surprise in the works for his wife, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), as Victor secretly rebuilt their legendary ranch house.
Deadline revealed the surprise rebuild of the legendary Newman house and noted it was all part of Y&R’s upcoming 13,000th episode celebration. The reveal will air on November 8, 2024.
“I love it with all my heart” – Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki, Y&R) upon seeing the Newman Ranch again
The Young and the Restless released a video showing stars Eric Braeden (Victor, Y&R) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki, Y&R) being surprised by the new set. The stars were moved to tears when they re-entered their “ranch” for the first time in over a decade.
The legendary Newman Ranch
Victor and Nikki’s home on the ranch burned down in 2012 when Sharon lit it on fire. Josh Griffith, Y&R’s Executive Producer and Head Writer, told Deadline, “The Newman Ranch burning down was an emotional story for the Newmans, but it was not lost on us that the Newman family and Genoa City just weren’t the same without Victor and Nikki’s original home.”
“We’ve discussed bringing the set back for many years, and decided that its return around Y&R’s 13,000th episode would be perfect timing to help celebrate this incredible milestone as well as the legacy of Victor and Nikki. I must give special thanks to Y&R’s art department and stage crew who went above and beyond in executing the return of one of Y&R’s most iconic sets,” Griffith added.
“I never thought that I’d become attached to a set where I work, but I did.” – Eric Braeden (Victor, Y&R)
Long-time fans of the show may recognize items that survived the fire. Victor’s rebuilt house (and the set) was replicated as best as possible to the original. “I was walking around trying to point out things. There were a few things in there that were still in there from the original set. I’m like, ‘Look at this, look at that.’ Eric walked in, sat down, and started crying,” Thomas Scott shared in the video.
“They said, ‘This is your new set.’ I came in, I sat down, and I was actually moved to tears because it was so long coming, you know,” Braeden said.
The big reveal for Y&R’s 13,000th celebration
Eric Braeden (Victor, Y&R) recently shared photos of the upcoming wedding. Hints of the background suggested the available Genoa City Athletic Club, but no one knew about the new set.
In the show’s released video, Braeden told Thomas Scott, “I used to carry you up that staircase.” She jokingly responded, “You’re going to do that again today.”
The Young and the Restless will celebrate its 13,000th episode at Television City on October 24, 2024. The historic episode will air on November 13, 2024.
