Why you won’t see General Hospital for two days this week

General Hospital fans got a rare Monday cliffhanger when Lucky Spencer and Elizabeth Webber laid eyes on each other for the first time in nearly a decade. However, the follow-up to the moment when they lock eyes won’t come until Thursday, thanks to America’s favorite pastime.

General Hospital preempted Tuesday and Wednesday

The Major League Baseball postseason has finally begun, and ABC will be airing the Detroit Tigers playing the Houston Astros in afternoon wild card games.

If another game is needed on Thursday, October 3, you’ll have to wait until Friday for Lucky and Elizabeth’s scenes. However, a Thursday game won’t be confirmed until the Wednesday game is played.

Soap fans are used to sports interrupting daytime programming, as CBS typically airs March Madness college basketball games, preempting The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.

What you’ll see when GH returns

Aside from Lucky and Elizabeth finally having a face-to-face conversation, GH fans can look forward to several other stories.

Brad will confront Portia over her objections to him working in the GH lab again, wondering why she seems to be taking the news of Brad’s new-old job so personally.

Molly will pay a visit to Alexis in jail and implore her mother to stop throwing away her life just to protect Kristina, but it’s doubtful Alexis will budge. She is willing to sacrifice her own freedom rather than see her middle daughter in trouble with the law. You’ll also see Alexis’ oldest daughter, Sam, try to clear the air.

Ava looks like she is about to get some good news, while Heather makes a declaration. Little does Heather know that Ava could end up helping her out. Of course, you’ll have to wait about 18 innings or so to find out how.
